How does a session work?

Tap the clock sign to set your total focus time, section length and breaks. Place an egg with the + in the nursery, then press play. The egg hatches when your first section ends, grows with each section, and joins your reef when the session is done. Breaks start on their own; each new section waits for you to press play.

Why did my fish get sick?

Your growing fish needs you to stay with it. Leaving Reef during focus, pausing, or not coming back within a minute after a break ends makes it sick. Get back on track and it recovers in a couple of minutes. A fish left sick for too long during a session won't make it.

Does locking my phone count as leaving?

No. Locking your phone during focus is fine as long as it has a passcode. Taking a phone call doesn't count as leaving either.

My reef has a sick fish. Can I save it?

Yes. Finish a focus session and the sick fish that's been waiting longest gets better. A fish that stays sick for a day without a finished session doesn't survive.

How do I earn pearls?

Every focus section you finish earns one pearl per minute. Skipping a section or giving up the session earns nothing for that section. Spend pearls in the shop on new fish and decor.

I'm not getting reminders.

Reef uses notifications to tell you when a section or break ends. Check Settings › Notifications › Reef on your iPhone and make sure notifications are allowed.

Can I move my reef to a new phone?

Not yet. Everything is stored only on your phone, so deleting Reef or switching phones starts a fresh reef.

Is my data shared with anyone?

No. Reef has no accounts, ads or tracking. See our privacy policy.
